The course catalogue is published in the LSF in early March for the summer semester and in early September for the winter semester. The timetables can be viewed from this point onwards. You can find precise times and dates on the timeline on the LSF.

We strongly recommend that you take advantage of phase 1 of the enrolment process, as the likelihood of successful admission decreases significantly in subsequent allocation rounds.

Please submit your application for your preferred course enrolment, together with supporting documents, your timetable and your matriculation number, by the deadline (by the end of phase 1 at the latest) via the FB3 ticket system: www.f3.htw-berlin.de/kontakt/ticketsystem/. Please note that you must re-register for your preferred courses and provide evidence of this each semester.

The sample timetable is the final timetable for the compulsory modules in the first semester. If you are studying full-time, you will automatically be granted admission (ZU) to all compulsory modules.

If supplementary, foreign language or elective modules are on offer, you must register (AN) for them yourself.

If you are studying part-time, you will need to create your own timetable.

When selecting your courses, please refer to the study plan, which you will find in the Study and Examination Regulations for the relevant degree programme.

From the second semester onwards, you will need to create your own timetable.

Places are allocated automatically by the system. If there are fewer places than registrations (AN) for a course, the places are allocated by a draw, taking account of the ranking.

You must actively monitor the current status of your courses in the LSF. Your enrolment status (AN, ZU, AB) is shown in your personal timetable: further information can be found on the following web page: https://www.htw-berlin.de/en/studies/study-organisation/module-registration.

Disciplines can only be changed by exchanging them. If you find an exchange partner, that person would also need to contact us to express their wish to exchange disciplines. Please submit a request for a discipline change – along with your exchange partner – via the FB3 ticket system, stating your matriculation numbers, by the end of the enrolment period at the latest: https://www.f3.htw-berlin.de/kontakt/ticketsystem/.

After each allocation of places, your registrations (AN) are assigned an enrolment status:

Approved (ZU) or rejected (AB). 

Please note that the preferences you have entered are initially treated merely as registrations (AN) and do not yet constitute final admission. Your registrations (AN) will no longer be active once places have been allocated. You can enter your registrations (AN) into the system up until the day before the final allocation of places. When doing so, please take the current enrolment figures for the courses into account.

Please check your re-registration status. If no valid re-registration has been submitted for the current semester (https://www.htw-berlin.de/en/studies/study-organisation/re-registration), you will not be able to enrol on any courses.

You can re-register for courses during the enrolment period. Please refer to the course enrolment website for the dates of the place allocations (https://www.htw-berlin.de/en/studies/study-organisation/module-registration). Please check the enrolment figures in the LSF before attempting re-enrolment. Check the availability of places on alternative elective modules and enrol on these instead. If a course is fully booked, no further places can be allocated. 

You can adjust your enrolment choices during the allocation of remaining places phase. It is important to note that you can only change your selection if there are still places available in the other module, discipline or group. Please note that cancelling an enrolment will make that place available again.

Place allocation in the LSF is automatic. The order in which registrations are received is not relevant to the allocation of places. However, we strongly recommend that you register during phase 1 of the enrolment process, as the likelihood of successful admission decreases significantly in subsequent allocation rounds. Each time places are allocated, the system allocates the limited number of places via a draw from among all registered students, taking account of the ranking.

During the enrolment period, you can search for available places in the LSF and register for modules with available places. You can register for any remaining places while the enrolment period remains open.

Places within the specialisation modules are limited due to capacity constraints. To ensure that you can continue your studies as planned, we recommend that, in this case, you enrol on an alternative specialisation with available places as soon as possible. It is not possible to manually reallocate (formerly ‘manual allocation’) overfilled specialisations.

In principle, you are free to choose supplementary modules from the university’s full range of courses; if a supplementary module is not available for your degree programme, this will be indicated in the comments field in the LSF. If you are taking a supplementary module offered by another faculty, please check with the Examination Board in advance to see whether said module can be recognised.

You can cancel your registration for a particular module during the enrolment period. Please note that cancelling your enrolment will make this place available again. No entitlement to re-admission exists. 

As places are limited and are allocated primarily on a capacity basis, we cannot guarantee a place for a repeat module. Therefore, please pay attention to the enrolment figures in the LSF.

We recommend that you check the Study and Examination Regulations for your degree programme in advance to see whether it is compulsory to retake the module. Depending on the specified examination format, it may not be necessary to retake the module.

You can register for modules with available places during the allocation of remaining places phase. You can view the enrolment figures in the LSF. Once the enrolment period has ended, you will no longer be able to make any changes to your timetable in the LSF.

In this case, you are responsible for assessing the modules for which you can provide evidence. As recognition processes can take some time, we recommend the following procedure:

Compare the module description from your previous course with the current module handbook for your degree programme at HTW Berlin. Please assess realistically whether the course content and learning objectives align, and whether credit is therefore likely to be awarded.

Please note: enrolment based on a self-assessment does not automatically guarantee that the module will subsequently be recognised. If modules or examinations are completed at HTW Berlin before decisions on accreditations have been made, the grades of the former shall apply.

If you were enrolled up to the summer semester of 2026, the first semester will no longer appear in the standard course catalogue, as the course catalogue has been updated to reflect the new Study and Examination Regulations for Business Administration, which come into effect from the winter semester of 2026/2027. You will therefore need to use the equivalence table and the transitional provisions to find out which modules are the right ones for you.
